About Custom PC Finder

Custom PC Finder is a national directory of independent custom gaming PC builders. It launched with a hand-verified seed list and grew on October 30, 2026 to 86 verified builders across 36 states; every listing is checked against the builder's own site.

Why there are no star ratings

Ratings invite fake reviews. On open platforms, a star average can be bought, brigaded, or quietly curated, and a reader has no way to tell a genuine five stars from a manufactured one. A small independent builder can be harmed by a handful of unverifiable reviews, and a poor builder can look excellent behind purchased ones.

So this directory uses verifiable facts instead: whether a business is identifiable, whether it shows completed custom builds, whether it has a public ordering path, where it serves, and which fields have actually been checked. Where a fact has not been verified, the profile says “not yet verified”. That is less exciting than a star rating — and considerably more honest. If a builder's facts change, submit a correction and it will be re-checked.

Inclusion standard

A builder is listed only if all four can be verified:

  1. An identifiable business
  2. Evidence of completed custom builds
  3. A public ordering path
  4. A defined service area

Repair shops without build evidence are excluded. Many excellent repair shops do not build custom gaming PCs, and listing them as builders would mislead readers. National configurator brands are not directory listings either; they appear only, clearly labelled, on the national brands page.

How fields are handled

Profiles use identical fields for every builder, in alphabetical order, with no paid placement, no “top pick” badges and no ranking boost for anyone — including the publisher's own shop. Prices, ratings and reviews are not published for any listing.

Publisher disclosure

This directory is maintained by the team behind Starbase Computer, a computer shop in South Pasadena, CA — which is itself listed here under the same criteria as every other builder.

Starbase Computer's listing uses the same fields, the same alphabetical placement and the same criteria as every other builder. See also the affiliate disclosure.

Market context

The global custom PC builder market was estimated at USD 1.65B in 2025 (PW Consulting). IBISWorld counts 26,312 US Electronic & Computer Repair Services businesses in 2026, and most independent builders are repair shops that also build — one reason a dedicated, verified directory is needed, and why the existing field (LinkCentre's Custom PC Building category shows just 4 listings) leaves most builders undiscovered.
